RENOWNED GUT HEALTH DOCTOR, Paul Froomes (BMedSci MBBS FRACP MD)

'Doctors are excited by the health benefits of dark chocolate. It is loaded with antioxidants, polyphenols and flavanols in higher amounts than blueberries and Acai berries. Cocoa has been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death by a 50% over a 15 year period. The flavanols in dark chocolate protect against sun-induced skin damage, improve skin blood flow and hydration and the caffeine and theobromine in dark chocolate can improve both blood flow to the brain and cognitive function.

But, you need to choose your chocolate wisely. The big problem with commercially produced chocolate is the high levels of added refined sugar that wipe out the health benefits of cocoa and turn chocolate into a diabetogenic and obesogenic junk food. They also add chemical emulsifiers that damage the gut lining by altering the composition of gut bacteria and promote gut inflammation and obesity.

Pumpy Jackson chocolate contains all the health benefits of 66% cocoa, with no emulsifiers and only 4% natural sugar, being naturally sweetened with healthy prebiotic rich monk fruit and almond that promote healthy gut bacteria, nurture the gut lining and is not an obesity promoting food. Finally, here is a chocolate that is a whole food not a junk food, with flavour, texture, bitterness and sweetness that are all beautifully balanced.'

'Chocolate has been enjoyed by people for thousands of years and nothing can really beat the delectable creaminess and flavour of chocolate. Even its scientific name "Theobroma Cacao" means "Food of the Gods". As a health professional, I think it's important for people to enjoy treats and snacks from time to time as it's one of life's simple pleasures.

In recent years, chocolate has been found to contain some beneficial components for our cardiovascular health. The problem with most commercially available chocolates, however, is that they are very high in sugar or have problematic additives such as potential allergens or synthetic ingredients, which may have undesirable side effects.

The reason I am impressed with this chocolate is because it has managed to tick so many other health boxes not covered so far by other chocolates. It is very low in sugar, low in allergens, free of artificial additives that may cause side effects and is surprisingly high in fibre.

Given chocolate's known health benefits, I can confidently say that this is the healthiest chocolate I have so far come across on the market.'

Nutritionist Lola Berry:

'I'm blown away by this chocolate, not just because it ticks all the health boxes, especially on the low amount of sugars it contains. But it's a special kind of chocolate. Up until now, chocolate has still felt like a total treat but this is such a clean creation that i know my body will thrive off all the ingredients, so it really is the healthiest chocolate i've come across. That said, i'm not surprised as Charlie has poured his heart and soul into creating a product that he passionately believes in, but enough from me, try it for yourself, proof is in the pudding, or chocolate in this case! Enjoy!'
